30 Day Anime Challenge – Day 29: An Anime I Wished was Real

Hello, Anifriends

For day 29 of the 30 Day Anime Challenge, I’ll be talking about an anime that I wish was real.

While it is fun to imagine anime being real, I have to admit something upfront: I don’t think I would want an anime to be real, just like I wouldn’t want any fictional universe to be real, and there’s a specific reason for this.

The main reason I consume anime and other forms of entertainment is for escapism. I want to get lost in other people’s stories, to find world’s that don’t initially make a lot of sense and then end up making a bunch of sense by the end. If a world like that were to become real, then I would not be able to enjoy it as much. It being real would mean I couldn’t escape to it.

Overall, I would rather let the fictional stay fictional, because it is a lot more enjoyable to me that way.

What anime would you want to be real, or would you even want anime to be real? Let me know in the comments below. Also, if you want to support the Aniwriter through donations or are just feeling generous, consider buying me a coffee on Ko-Fi. Otherwise, thanks for reading and bye for now, Friendos!

  1. Hey Jack, a bit of sidetrack here but what about an anime that you think is closest to real life (in general) like its scenarios or story? One series I’d pick would probably be Shirobako… but then its probably my researchless-opinion haha.
I also agree that I wouldn’t really want any anime fiction to become a real thing in my life, but because I want to sail through uncharted waters and continue to discover what my story is, and learn to live it fully.

Fiction always provide great respite for our mind and soul, probably 🙂

    1. Closest to real life, huh?
Shirobako honestly probably would have been a first pick for me. Other than that though, I might actually pick Your Lie in April. It is a bit dramatized, but I actually had a classmate who passed away because of cancer during my Junior year. It was surreal experience to say the least.

  2. I don’t know that I’d want an anime to be real life, but there are certainly aspects of anime worlds that would be kind of cool if they were real.
