This Week in Anime: Shout-Out Edition

Welcome, weebs and authors alike, to The Aniwriter

Most of the time on This Week in Anime I will go through news stories and talk about the most important ones of the week. Recently, I started giving shoutouts to other bloggers and articles that I found cool or worth a read. This week, I decided to do that but on a bigger scale by making this week’s This Week in Anime a Shout-out edition. This time, instead of covering news stories, I want to give full attention to some of the other great articles I read this week.

Also, apologies again that this is coming out a day late.

Does Anime Have a Moral Responsibility

Irina from I drink and watch anime poses a serious question about the responsibility of anime, and media more generally speaking, to deliver morally sound content to audiences. Definitely an interesting topic of discussion and one that I am sure many would like to participate in.

Mentorship in K

Fellow OWLS blogger Mel decided to write their post this month on K. In it, they talk about the various Mentor-like relationships that exist in K. If you like the series at all, I would highly suggest giving it a read.

A Reaction to Angels of Death

Ang of CouchCruisin’ gave her reaction to one of Summer 2018’s more talked about series, Angels of Death. While I personally still have more of an optimistic view about the series, at least as of episode two, I can understand where she is coming from. Go and give it a read.

A Harukana Receive and Hanebado! Comparison

Scott from Mechanical Anime Reviews broke down two of Summer 2018’s other shows, both with very similar premises but very different executions. You should absolutely give it a read as well.

What do you guys think of these articles/posts? Let me know in the comments below. Also, if you want to support the Aniwriter through donations or are just feeling generous, consider buying me a coffee on Ko-Fi. Otherwise, thanks for reading and bye for now, Friendos!

  1. Irina’s been on a roll lately with some really great content coming out over the past few weeks (not that her content isn’t always good but it seems every other days she puts out a must read post lately).

  2. I totally agree with Karandi, Irina’s content lately has been off the scales with how good it is (and it was already totally awesome), but Scott’s blog is terrific too.
Mel is also one of those bloggers that is incredibly supportive and writes wonderful posts. The only one I haven’t read is the post by Ang.
Very nice of you to share these 😊😊
