Aniwriter Update #7: This Week in Anime and Other Changes

Welcome, weebs and authors alike, to another update.

The last two weeks have been a bit turbulent. I’ve had a lot of work to do, and some unpleasant memories from the past have kept me from sleeping as well as I would like. Even so, I want to continue giving you guys info about the blog, so here’s everything for this update:

The Future of “This Week in Anime”

Some of you may have noticed that my return to form on The Aniwriter did not include any This Week in Anime segments. This is because in the weeks right before my break, I realized something: I wasn’t having fun writing them anymore. And so, I have decided that I will, for the time being at least, put the series on hold. If I decide to bring it back in the future I will let you know.

A Lack of Drive

Recently, I have had little motivation to watch much anime, and I am unsure what to do about it. Every time I go to watch something new I just decide to waste time scrolling through social media or organize something instead, and I’m not sure why. It’s not the first time it’s happened. For much of my Freshman and Sophomore Year of high school, I found myself not wanting to watch a lot of anime.

The point being, I apologize if this affects the amount of posts coming out, but I will try and make sure it doesn’t.

And that’s it for this update. I thought I would have more for you, but there isn’t actually a whole lot going on with me recently other than getting ready for the end of the semester.

What have you guys been up to lately? Let me know in the comments below. Also, if you want to support the Aniwriter through donations or are just feeling generous, consider buying me a coffee on Ko-Fi. Otherwise, thanks for reading and bye for now, Friendos!

  1. I’m sorry to hear that you have been having a bit of a rough time. But there is absolutely no need for you to apologise in any way. Take all the time you need to find some energy, and write when you feel like it, not because you have to. I hope things will go better for you soon: please take care 😊

  2. Write what you can! I hate to give advice, because gracious knows I’m no expert, but sometimes learning to write through the dry patches help you surge ahead as a writer!

In my writing life, when I feel a lack of motivation, it’s sometimes because my subconscious is trying to tell me sometime. Usually, it’s something I’ve missed that helps me get back on track!

But whatever it is, take the time you need!
