9. Least Favorite Male Character

Yoki is an interesting Dilemma for me, because, on the one hand, in the original FMA, he was a one arc villain who served his purpose well and then kind of just left. He was not on screen for long, but he was a fine enough character because he did not overstay his welcome.

However, his character in Brotherhood, where he gets significantly more screen time, feels wholly unnecessary. For starters, the brotherhood adaptation completely skips his original arc, aside from a brief flashback in order to justify him as some kind of Villain. Then he spends most of his screen time running around with Scar only to do literally nothing the entire show.

He also spends most of his time kind of just being annoying. Even when all of the characters are interacting and doing something important, he kind of just sits there as a continual reference to the original, like “Hey you guys remember me, back when I was an ok character?” It honestly would have been better to just not have him show up at all.
