#10: Least Favorite Anime Cliche
My least favorite cliche is one that I have honestly hated for a while now, and I am sure that most of those reading this are probably familiar with it as well. It is the cliche where the main character of an ecchi or ecchi adjacent show walks in on one of the girls naked, at which point the girl overreacts in complete disproportion to what the situation might entail. I think it mainly bugs me not because of how often its used, but how often its used poorly. It has become such a lazy trope that most of the time it is not even funny.

That’s a good choice for a least favorite cliche. At least NieA_7 subverted it with a guy walking in the women’s bathhouse section purely on accident when he was trying to drop something off for the main character. He apologizes and doesn’t come off as a pervert. Give these writers a medal!

I know, right? That was a major anti-cliche. The sad part is that anime came out in the year 2000 and there are series that still used that cliche. You would think people would learn from it. SMH.
