30 Day Anime Challenge Two: Day 30

Welcome, weebs, to Animated Observations

It is the final day of the second 30 Day Anime Challenge. I want to just go ahead and say thank you to everyone who has followed me through this challenge. There are times when I feel like challenges such as these help me reevaluate my opinions in ways other kinds of posts don’t, due to the often simple nature of the questions. It has been a fun journey.

#30: Anime You Wish Was Your Reality

Honestly, none. I know this is sort of a cliche answer at this point, but I have never really been a fan of thinking about what would happen if I were part of a certain world. I would much much rather spend my time thinking about said worlds from an outside perspective. However, I do acknowledge it is more fun for other people. So with that being said:

#29: Favorite Anime Franchise

Lol, I’m not even explaining this. March Comes in Like a Lion is so good, and also I’ve talked about it so much, so yeah.

#28: Anime You Wouldn’t Mind Having Remade

“Future Diary” is a pretty universally known anime in the same way as “Fullmetal Alchemist” was before “Brotherhood.” While its true that “FMA” was re-adapted for different reasons, it would be interesting to see nonetheless. Specifically, I would be interested to see how they modernize the show, in relation to its characters and story line.

#27: Character Archetype I Never Get Tired Of

Kuuderes are usually pretty similar between shows, but they can also be pretty unique depending on how they are written. Unlike, say, tsunderes who are only going to have on reason for their personalities, Kuuderes can have a large variety of backstories and character arcs. Because of that, they stay interesting between anime.

30 Day Anime Challenge Two: Day 26

Welcome, weebs, to Animated Observations

It is day 26 of the second 30 Day Anime Challenge, and it seems as though I have in fact failed. I was pretty busy recently so that is to be expected. Still, I want to finish it out, so lets get started.

#26: Characters Death I Actually Cheered For

I am very uninteresting. This is probably true for just about everyone, but after watching Lite go from a vaguely good anti-hero to an all out psycho-path over the course of two seasons, it was nice to finally get what was coming to him.

What death did you all cheer for? Let me know in the comments.

#25: Scene That Always Blows Your Mind

“Redline” is a crazy movie. Released in 2009 by studio Madhouse, the film took around seven years to make, and man was it worth it. It has so many good moments, but undoubtedly one of its best moments comes at the end, where JP and Sonoshee face off against the Machinehead, in the biggest race of the year, Redline. Even without knowing the context of the film, the scene looks and sounds awesome. Definitely give it a watch.

#24: Best Plot Twist

While I do not know if I could say this is the best plot twist overall, at least for me, “The Promised Neverland’s” plot twist hit like a ton of bricks. The way the show spends the entire first episode building, leaving little clues and foreshadowing sprinkled throughout makes it hit so much harder. In fact, writing this out now makes me want to finish writing that script I had for a video. Well, maybe at some point.

What do you all think is the best Plot Twist? Let me know in the comments.

#23: Favorite Anime Genre

I have spent many a hour writing about the slice of life genre and why I enjoy it so much. However, the thing that I enjoy most about it is the ability it has to humanize and bring to life specific characters. At least to me, it is incredibly humbling, at least from a story perspective, to spend a day, or multiple days, going through someone’s daily routine, and to see how it affects them. Seeing that process is honestly more fascinating than a lot of high octane shonen battles.

What is your favorite anime genre? Let me know in the comments below.

#22: Anime Series You Refuse to Watch

I would not say that there is any series I truly refuse to watch, but the one I really do not want to is “One Piece.” I tried watch the series a long time ago, and by the time I was ten episodes in, I started to wonder if it was even worth continuing, since it takes over 50 episodes to introduce just the main cast. I am not saying that I would never watch a show as long as “One Piece,” but I do think that the show is not interesting enough to justify its length.

What show do you all refuse to watch? Let me know in the comments below.

#21: Anime Everyone’s Seen, But You Haven’t

The most recent fan favorite I have yet to watch is Vinland Saga, which, even from just its promotional art and pv’s has looked incredible. The only reason I have yet to watch is a combination of laziness, busyness and general lack of interest. I will definitely check it out at some point, but as of right now I have a lot of other stuff is I want to watch.

What anime have you all not seen but everyone else has? Let me know in the comments.
